Don't be put off by this book's 1973 publication date - I'm now a regular volunteer at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, and I assure you the view hasn't changed...and although there are several books about Hawk Mountain and its history, Harwood's extensive time there and his captivating writing style make this classic a must-read for anyone who knows Hawk Mountain or the world-renowned sanctuary's work there and worldwide. Also an excellent introduction to raptors and their seasonal migration. Highly recommended.
