The title implies that this is a book on the history of draft horses, but it is much more. It does devote the first chapter to history, but the remainder of the book is very current and complete. It gives good information on the various breeds of draft horses, buying and caring for your horses, as well as chapters on showing, breeding and working draft horses. This book is easy to read and gives a very good overview of the basics of draft horse ownership. Written in 2007, the information is very up-to-date.
This is a wonderful book on the history and use of draft horses. This book is well written, informative, and entertaining. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in draft horses.
I own a team of drafts, and I was looking for more practical information than this book provided. Very informative. Easy to understand; well written. Discusses issues that pertain only to draft horses. Would recommend it to other draft horse owners. Great Value and great addition to your draft horse library.
