Engineering Mechanics: Statics

Note: Book does not include Access codes Plesha, Gray, and Costanzo's Engineering Mechanics: Statics and Dynamics, 2nd edition is the Problem Solver's Approach for Tomorrow's Engineers. Based upon a great deal of classroom teaching experience, Plesha, Gray, and Costanzo provide a visually appealing, “step-by-step” learning framework. The presentation is modern, up-to-date and student centered, and the introduction of topics and techniques is relevant, with examples and exercises drawn from the world around us and emerging technologies. Every example problem is broken down in a consistent “step-by-step” manner that emphasises a “Problem Solver's Approach” which builds from chapter to chapter and moves from easily solved problems to progressively more difficult ones. McGraw-Hill Education's Connect, is also available as an optional, add on item. Connect is the only integrated learning system that empowers students by continuously adapting to deliver precisely what they need, when they need it, how they need it, so that class time is more effective. Connect allows the professor to assign homework, quizzes, and tests easily and automatically grades and records the scores of the student's work. Problems are randomized to prevent sharing of answers an may also have a "multi-step solution" which helps move the students' learning along if they experience difficulty. Engineering Mechanics: Statics and Dynamics, 2nd edition by Plesha, Gray, and Costanzo - a new dawn for the teaching and learning of Statics and Dynamics.

I purchased this book and expected it to come with the McGraw Hill Connect because the description mentions the McGraw Hill Connect. One week later, I received and opened the package to find out there was no online access code...VERY MISLEADING!!!

There are a lot of equation derivations and practice problems. Any engineering student knows how that goes. What I like particularly about this book is that at the end of each section is two or three practice problems worked out with full detail and explanation, to give the reader a typical example.

The book came fast in great condition. However for students looking for the McGraw-Hill Connect Code that some instructors require to do homework for certain Engineering Physics: Statics courses, this book doesn't come with it.I was confused when I didn't receive the connect code, returned and requested another from , but it's simply not there.Didn't dock a star because the book is brand new, however, the description is misleading and should be fixed.Just a heads up for future buyers.

This is the second time I have ordered this textbook and the second time that I have received the wrong edition. I specifically ordered the book by the ISBN and the wrong book arrived. Twice. This is for use by an engineering university student and the correct book is required. Very frustrating.

The book came in time, in very good condition. the book itself had excellent examples and i learned a lot from it.

I am guessing you are buying this book because it is cheaper then the school bookstore, soo...The cool thing about this book is the thermometer a long side each problem to help you scale whether you are doing ok in the subject or should get help. It's a generic statics book, gives examples and definitions. For me the difficult part was bridging the gap between the examples and the more difficult problems, but this is with any statics book. Good first edition but wished my teachers waited for the second edition.Good luck my friend

Misleading. Does not include Connect.

You should tell me there's no code! You should tell me there's no code! You should tell me there's no code! You should tell me there's no code!
