The approach in this book is a lot different than that which engineering students will learn in their Physics classes. This book uses a lot of calculus once you get past chapter seven, so make sure you have taken at LEAST up to Calculus III before you embark on the wonderous journey of attempting to understand shear and moment diagrams. And there's a sufficient number of errors in the chapter two, three, and I think chapter six solutions. Make sure you ask your professor about them. Not too terribly hard to get through, though. If you're studious and intelligent, you'll be fine.
excellent book in great condition. i did not know this, but my bookstore was selling PAPERBACK versions of this book. It is nice to have a nicer hardcover copy. Thanks!
After about 2 weeks of moderate use, I noticed that some pages were starting to tear out of the book -- the binding is not well glued together.
The book is organized in an inefficient way - the problems are scattered in a chapter and many times are not explained well.
good book for class
