this is a very handy, high quality, laminated guide with outstanding photos to make easy identification possible. reasonably priced and makes a great gift for those living in snake country. I actually found this in a brick and mortar but then promptly went to to order more. I've never seen a better snake guide. it's organized with all venomous snakes in one section which makes rapid identification easy. easily fits in a pocket if hiking. I really can't praise this enough. this is a must have item
We see a lot of snakes during our frequent trips to the Francis Marion Forest year-round, so we keep this handy guide in our car. The photos are good, and it's an accurate and easy to use reference. My husband was able to help a coworker identify a copperhead and settle an argument with this guide. The coworker insisted he saw a non-venomous corn snake, but my husband whipped out his guide and convinced him he saw a copperhead. A good investment.
We have a few snakes that have recently come out of hiding in our back yard and this guide has been perfect for identifying what they are and whether or not they are poisonous. I keep it very handy for those times I need to run in the house and identify another snake.
My family often goes on hikes in the mountains in Georgia but we know nothing about snakes. Every once and a while we would see one while we were on the trail and didn't know if it was poisonous or not. This pullout was a great solution. It is laminated, about 4 pages with color pictures. Now we just throw this in our backpacks and pull it out any time we see a snake. It is fun for the boys to try to identify the type of snake. Two thumbs up.
-Disclaimer- (I am not a snake person)I purchased this for my roommate who is definitely a snake lover. She moved to north Georgia from Florida and was disappointed that her Florida snake guide was not accurate for this area. I located the guide by the same authors as her other one. She loves it! The lamination makes it very durable. Her Florida guide has been well loved and is still holding up great. Provides detailed pictures and great info.
Good information, clear photographs and was shipped on time and was as advertised. What more could one want? Stupid review form...I have nothing more to say
I could have sworn I already wrote a review for this. My son-in-law is the one to whom it was gifted, and he really enjoys learning about the different kinds of snakes in his local of SC.
